University Admissions Requirements

Students are required to fulfill a specific pattern of classes for eligibility to University. The minimum requirements for both the California State University Systems and the University of California Colleges are as follows:

4 years English
3 years Math (Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2)
2 years History
2 Years Lab Science (1 Physical and 1 Biological)
2 years of Foreign Language
1 year of Visual or Performing Arts
1 year additional Academic Elective

This pattern is referred to as the A-G Requirements.

The California State Universities (CSU) accept the top 30% of students from the State of California. Students must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher in the A-G required classes and must complete the ACT or SAT Reasoning Test. www.csumentor.edu

The University of California System (UC) accepts the top 12% of students from the State of California. Students must have a GPA of 3.0 in the A-G classes and must complete the ACT or SAT Reasoning Test and 2 SAT Subject tests in 2 different subject areas. www.universityofcalifornia.edu/students/welcome
