Industry Partnerships

MSA faculty are currently working to develop marine-related industry partnerships that will support and motivate our academy students. Some of our partnerships include:
 
  • Los Angeles Maritime Institute - 11th and 12th grade MSA students have the opportunity to participate as paid interns at LAMI. The students roles include; acting as docents, leading educational activities, engaging the public, organizing and leading marine science activities.
  • Surfrider - All MSA students are invited to participate in Surfrider's Teach & Test water quality testing program. Students bi-weekly test the quality of ocean water at locations in the So. Bay, and the results are used to inform the public.  
  • EXP - MSA students have opportunities to participate in career awareness and exploration throughout their time in the MSA. This includes guest speakers, college visits and career expos. 11th grade students are also able to be part of an Internship program which culminates in a summer internship in a science and technology company.
