Speak Up Survey

Our goal is to get 100% of our students, parents, faculty, and key staff to take the Speak Up Survey because it not only helps to inform decisions about educational technology at all levels of government, but it also helps US because we can use the Speak Up data to inform our programmatic decisions for the CV Digital Learning Initiative!

Student ID Needed

All students must have a current Lawndale High School ID on them at all times. Starting November 1st, students without a 7th or 8th period must scan their ID to leave campus. If you do not have an ID, you may go to the student store. Replacement ID's cost $5 or 25 Cardinal Points.

NOTE: A picture of your current ID can be scanned if you do not have the hard copy.

State Championship Football Game - Student Rooter Bus

Students wishing to ride the rooter bus, must print and fill out the attached permission slip. The permission slip must be turned in to the student store at the same time you purchase your ticket. Student tickets are $10 with a current student ID. Please see attached for the code of conduct.

Last day to turn in permission slips is Thursday, December 13th!

CVUHSD LCAP Stakeholder Session

Parents and Community Members!!! You are invited to attend the second of three LCAP Stakeholder Sessions on Wednesday, November 28, 5:00pm - 7:00pm, in the Leuzinger HS Cafeteria. The session will focus on gathering your input regarding the District LCAP Goal #2: Provide varied supports to actively engage students, families, and the school community in promoting students' academic and behavioral health.

Staff from both the District and school sites will be in attendance to facilitate small group discussions, and dinner will be provided.

DLI: Chromebook Training for 9th and New 10th Graders

Every 9th grader and new 10th grader in the 2018-19 school year will receive a take-home Chromebook as part of our Digital Learning Initiative at Centinela Valley Union High School District. Prior to receiving the Chromebook, the student and a parent/guardian must complete a mandatory online training. 
It is highly recommended that the training course be completed prior to going to the Media Center to expedite the computer check-out process. Click on Link for more info.

The California PBIS Coalition recognizes LAWNDALE HIGH SCHOOL for successful PBIS implementation of Lawndale ROCKS Program at the GOLD level. Our school is a recipient within the California PBIS Coalition’s System of Recognition, reflecting excellence in the measurement of fidelity as well as our efforts in implementing the core features of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports. Lawndale HS Community sincerely appreciates the hard work and commitment toward implementing PBIS with fidelity and creating the conditions to maximize academic and social behavioral outcomes for ALL students. It gives us great pleasure to inform you that Lawndale High School’s 2018 Graduation Ceremony is right around the corner. The entire Centinela Valley Union High School District community is extremely proud of the class of 2018 and looks forward to seeing family and friends at the graduation ceremony. Our entire school staff- teachers, office staff, safety officers, custodians, and administrators- have been working diligently to prepare our seniors for graduation.

School Wide PSAT on Oct 10

WHO & WHERE: All 9th-11th graders are going to take it in assigned class. Special schedule that day.

WHEN: You will be taking the PSAT on October 10, 2018.

WHY: This is a practice test for the SAT, which you need to take for your junior and/or senior year. Helps you know what areas you need to work on for the SAT. Depending on your score, you can qualify for scholarships and colleges will send you information.

Chromebook Insurance Deadline Fast Approaching

All 9th & 10th graders: Dont forget to buy Chromebook Insurance. It is $25 dollars and covers all damages and repairs. You have until Aug 31st to purchase. Otherwise you will have to wait until next year.

"Lawndale Speaks" Student Demonstration/"Lawndale Speaks" la demostración de los estudiantes

On Wednesday, March 14 at 10am, there is a National School Walkout Day planned across the nation. Students across the country have been asked to walk out of class for 17 minutes in remembrance of the 17 people who were killed in Florida, and to express their demands for safe school campuses nationwide. We have received questions from students and parents regarding this day. Our Lawndale High students have elected to leverage their voices to promote school safety and social change in the aftermath of the Florida high school tragedy.
