Graduation Information ~ CONGRATULATIONS CLASS OF 2018!

It gives us great pleasure to inform you that Lawndale High School’s 2018 Graduation Ceremony is right around the corner. The entire Centinela Valley Union High School District community is extremely proud of the class of 2018 and looks forward to seeing family and friends at the graduation ceremony. Our entire school staff- teachers, office staff, safety officers, custodians, and administrators- have been working diligently to prepare our seniors for graduation.
Please note: Students must complete all required classes by June 8th at 12:00 p.m. in order to participate in the graduation ceremony.

Escape To Neverland Homecoming

School Wide PSAT on Oct 10

WHO & WHERE: All 9th-11th graders are going to take it in assigned class. Special schedule that day.

WHEN: You will be taking the PSAT on October 10, 2018.

WHY: This is a practice test for the SAT, which you need to take for your junior and/or senior year. Helps you know what areas you need to work on for the SAT. Depending on your score, you can qualify for scholarships and colleges will send you information.

Chromebook Insurance Deadline Fast Approaching

All 9th & 10th graders: Dont forget to buy Chromebook Insurance. It is $25 dollars and covers all damages and repairs. You have until Aug 31st to purchase. Otherwise you will have to wait until next year.

"Lawndale Speaks" Student Demonstration/"Lawndale Speaks" la demostración de los estudiantes

On Wednesday, March 14 at 10am, there is a National School Walkout Day planned across the nation. Students across the country have been asked to walk out of class for 17 minutes in remembrance of the 17 people who were killed in Florida, and to express their demands for safe school campuses nationwide. We have received questions from students and parents regarding this day. Our Lawndale High students have elected to leverage their voices to promote school safety and social change in the aftermath of the Florida high school tragedy. Prom 2018

Class of 2018 presents "A Golden Night at Gatsby's" at the Fonda Theater in Hollywood on June 2nd from 7:00- 11:00 pm.

The Fonda theater is a historic theater built in the 1920's but upgraded to become the performance venue for today's hottest artists. Make sure to take advantage of the epic photo ops from the chandelier wall in the entryway to the rooftop overlooking Hollywood Boulevard.

Kaiser Permanente presents - "What Goes Around"

Grad Nite 2018

Class of 2018's Grad Nite will be at Disneyland on June 8th. All students must have a signed permission slip to purchase a ticket. Permission slips will be handed out in Government / Econ classes. Tickets are $170 and will be sold from March 5th - March 29th.

If you would like to sit with your friends on the bus, you must purchase your ticket at the same time.

Spots are limited so please buy early!

Senior Payments

During January / February, there are two payments that should happen:
1) Go to the Herff Jones website, enter "Lawndale High School" and scroll down to "SHOP: Caps & Gowns". You will get a cap, gown, and tassel for $15+tax. Anyone that wishes to walk at graduation should visit the website.

2) If you wish to participate in senior activities (all on campus activities such as the senior breakfast, senior bbq, etc.), go to the student store to pay $40 (cash).

Prettiest Eyes? Biggest Ego? Best Smile? All these categories and others will be determined based on your votes!
