Guidelines
1. Pick a topic you care about, but not an extremely sensitive topic like gay rights or abortion. It could be the same topic you used for your free-write, but it doesn’t have to be.
2. Start your speech out with a hook—a good hook is where you describe an individual’s situation, like Obama did in his speech with the injured soldier.
3. End you speech talking about the same individual situation, like Obama does in his speech.
4. Include an allusion, to the Bible, or to some other work of literature you know, that is relevant to the issue you are discussing.
5. Use 3 or more instances of repetition.
6. Use at least 3 parallelisms.
7. Use appeals to logic and appeals to emotion.
8. Include a counterargument and a refutation.

You are one of the witches from "Macbeth". Imagine that you are on trial for witchcraft. You are also on trial for the murders that occurred in the play. The authorities want to hold someone accountable for all these crimes, and since the Macbeths are both dead at the end of the play, they have only the witches left to accuse.

Describe the situation from your own point of view as the witch. Include many details from the play, and try to defend yourself against these accusations.
