Description
NOTICE: (July 15th 2011) I apologize for not having everything posted sooner. I have been in the process of reviewing and updating materials for our class, since I did not teach APES this past year and the world of science is always evolving. THE SUMMER ASSIGNMENT IS CURRENTLY POSTED IN THE HOMEWORK SECTION. Don't worry. Given that I have gotten a late start, I feel it is only fair that I re-adjust the requirements of the Summer Assignment to reflect that. I understand that for you to be successful in my class, it is important that I am reasonable in my expectations. Any student who has already contacted me (as of 7/15/11) about my not posting will be awarded extra credit on the Summer Assignment. Thank you for your patience.

Welcome to your AP Environmental Science Webpage. This resource is designed to be a place where you can find pretty much everything you need to pass this class (other than hard work and desire - that part's up to you to bring). This will be the place to go when you miss school, need homework, and/or need lecture notes and study guides for an upcoming test. This site will also contain links and other files designed to help you.

As your teacher, it will be my responsibility to stay on top of this resource and to make sure that I provide everything you need to succeed in my class. Typically, I post everything a week in advance to provide students the opportunity to prepare for the week. This gives students a chance to print notes in advance or to simply organize their week ahead on Sunday night.

As a student, it is your responsibility to check in with this site if you miss school or need anything, and to communicate with the teacher (in advance, whenever possible), when you are having trouble, need extra support, or require extra time to complete an assignment.
Click one of the Homework buttons below to go to posted Lecture Notes and homework assignments. To find a past assignment or file that is past due, find and click the button in the upper-right corner that says "All Homework".

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course will deal with scientific principles, concepts and methodologies needed to better understand the interrelationship between humans and the natural world in which we live. The course is designed to meet the College Board guidelines for AP Environmental Science, and will therefore be the equivalent of a college-level introductory environmental science course.

COURSE PREREQUISITES:
The prerequisites for this course are a grade of C or better in biology, chemistry and algebra I or Instructor/Associate Principal approval. Students will be required to work outdoors and attend field trips as part of the lab/field work component of this class.
