APUSH (Period 2,5) Assignments

Chapter 29 --- Due at the end of the week.  We will potluck and review and do EC.

 

Chapter 30---Due on Monday, Nov 24th (Our Thanksgiving Study Date)

 

Chapter 31 --- Due on Monday Dec. 1st  (You will need to cover this one on your own)

 

TEST ON CHAPTERS 29-31 on DEC. 1st -- THE FIRST DAY BACK FROM BREAK.

Therefore, Thanksgiving Break is a study week for you guys.  We will have one LAST test on the last day before break.  You have three unit tests and small chapter tests to bring your grade up (or down).  Choose to go for broke and not give up.

 

Chapter 28 KEYTERMS

Chapter 26 KEYTERMS.  Please read carefully and look up all the words you don't know.  Why skim this chapter and waste the time you're already putting in?  Do it right the first time! Love you all.

 

For Period 5, I will not be able to see you guys on Tuesday (Veteran's Day) and you will lose one day that my other students will be able to gain knowledge or clarify key terms.  I want you guys to be 48 hours ahead of me, so I am giving you 7 extra credit points for showing me your key terms for Chapter 26 and 27 by Monday.  Take a look at your grade in powerschool and see how 7 points can help you.  Use your weekend well and don't procrastinate or else you will just be stressed out and then your immune system will go down due to the stress, and then you'll be sick. and then you'll be behind. and then you'll miss class, and then you'll be behind even more.  Sucks to be sick.  ;)

 

I will also put up chapter 28 very soon.  Keep up with these two first.  The unit test will cover up to Chapter 28th. 

Chapter 25 KEYTERMS

Please finish the last few key terms on this list starting #25.

Please study for a Quiz on Chapters 11-16 on Monday.

 

I am also giving 5 free points to whoever can finish Part I of Chapter 24 by MONDAY (2nd period) and TUESDAY (5th period).  You've got to be completely unmotivated to take 5 free points (1/8 of a test worth of free points.)  This is a difficult chapter and I'm willing to give some free points to make sure you do this in sections.  READ CAREFULLY and REREAD if you do not understand. Do not skip over words you don't know. They will come back to haunt you later on a test.  Note that what I've put up for the Chapter 24 key terms only cover HALF of the chapter. Yes, it's that long and important.  Good luck, my dear ones.

Here is the non-jacked up version of Chapter 14's KEYTERMS.  Lo Siento for not having the correct one up over the weekend. You still have two days to do this. Due for 2nd period on Wednesday.

Chapter 13 is due on MONDAY.  I'm also posting Chapter 14 for those of you who like to get your work done early.  

 

Be ready for your quiz. Please stop the perfunctory reading and SLOW DOWN. Look up words that you don't know and figure out what is stated. Love you all.

Chapter 11 Keyterms.  Be ready for a quiz on any one of the terms. Look some of them up on another website if you cannot understand the lingo of the textbook.

Since I did not get to see my Period 2, I'm not going to assign the extra Articles of Confederation reading until later.  Please use this link and read from here to the end of #16, which covers the ratification of the Constitution.

 

This will help you fill in the gaps of your knowledge and take away confusion. It's a lot easier of a read but does not have many details.

I'm putting this up early so that those of you guys who play sports or have busy extracurricular lives can get started early. 

Start reading and taking notes for Chapters 1-5.  Tonight, try reading Chapters 1 and 2.  Thurdsay, read chapter 3.  Friday, read Chapters 4 and 5.  Saturday, review. Sunday, review.  Be ready for a test on MONDAY.  Start off on the right foot and get your brain focused on getting over these first hurdles.

 

Successful students do not wait till the last minute.

 

Check out the power points but DO NOT rely on them to replace the readings. You must read and understand the book in order to be successful. I've also added on Chapter 6 questions in case you want to start early.
