The BCA field trip to El Camino College was a great learning experience for the BCA students. The BCA students were able to visit and speak to actual members of the Nursing Program. The Nursing Program was a great learning experience for the BCA students because they got an idea of what it would be like becoming part of the program.
There were two nursing rooms where the BCA students were put into two different groups. In the first room the BCA students learned how to stick a tracheal tube down the throat. They were also taught ways to give oxygen to a person who is not able to breathe. In the second room students were checking blood pressure. There was a competition between both of the rooms. The goal was to make the patient feel better; a dummy was used in the procedure. The second room won first place in the competition. The BCA students had a great learning experience and a great time!
