For your driver character in the hero's journey script you need to have a colored, labeled costume design sketch and one-page explanation of your clothing/five accessory choices. Explain how your outfit relates to your character. You will draw/collage a costume that expresses your character's personality.
Think about how the time period, genre, the setting, and social status will influence the visual “look" (25 points).
 
Turn in:
1. Character sub worksheet
2. Colorful, labeled character costume with five accessories
3. One-page explanation of your “look” and accessory choices. Explain how the costume helps the character be convincing for their role.

After break be prepared to perform your comedy scenes. Scripts should be memorized! (100 points).

After you finish typing your comedy script:
  1. Look over the attached rubric.
  2. Read it aloud and make any revisions in the script or formatting before you print.
  3. Print, staple, and highlight your lines and stage directions.
  4. With your group practice you lines outside the bungalow. Please be mindful of the other classrooms near by and keep the noise and activity to a reasonable level.
 
When you're writing/typing your comedy script in Celtx remember these key words for formatting, since they call the three types stage directions differently:
 
Scene heading = scene directions will be underlined and centered; use when you change scene locations or time
 
Stage directions = stage directions will be italicized
 
Parenthetical = character directions and will be centered in ( )
 
Character will capitalize the characters' NAME the line above dialogue
 
Dialog is used for dialog and will be slightly indented

  • Finish outlining/writing your five paragraph responses and goals. Evaluate yourself in the five categories: writing, critique, collaboration, performance, and time management. Write five paragraph responses (minimum five sentences) and two goals (per category) that you plan to work on this semester in Dramatic Production. See the attachment for a sample paragraph response and goals.
