Voting Instructions for Students:

You need to enter your Voter ID in order for your ballot to be counted.

You have one vote. Any Voter ID that is used more than once will be completely invalidated.

You may skip ballot items and your vote items will still be counted.

The ballot link is currently live for early voting.  It will remain active until 7:00 pm on Election Day, Tuesday, November 8.

 Ballot: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/LawndaleHighSchoolBallot2016

 ------------------

In addition, the pre-election survey is extended through Sunday at midnight, Nov 6.  Students’ survey participation is greatly appreciated. The same requirement applies for a single-use Voter ID: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/ArsalynPreElection

Update: The pre-election survey will remain activated until Sunday at midnight, Nov 6.

Practice Run – pre-election survey:
e.      Once students have their Voter IDs, we recommend this “political efficacy” survey as a practice run.  The link is currently live and will remain active until 3:30 pm on Thursday, Nov 3: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/ArsalynPreElection

f.        Please clarify for students that they can only vote once.  With this practice run, same as for the ballot on Election Day, any multiple ballots for one Voter ID will invalidate that Voter ID completely; No vote will be counted for that ID.

Cancer Support Community Redondo Beach (CSC-RB) is pleased to announce the 1st Annual Teen Writing Contest. Any teens that have been impacted by cancer are invited to participate. Because so many of us have been touched by cancer, we appreciate you sharing this information with all teachers and students at your school.

This contest gives teens an opportunity to express their thoughts and feelings about a personal cancer experience and to “pay it forward” by sharing their experience with others.  Generous cash prizes are awarded to the top three participants.

Youth in grades 6 through 12 who live in within CSC-RB’s service area may enter (see website for cities and zip codes). Their original writing can be about their own cancer diagnosis or that of a family member/friend or the loss of a family member or friend to cancer. Entries will go through two rounds of judging; the first by a panel of judges who are educators, community members and cancer-care professionals. The final judging and the winner selected will be by celebrity judge Carson Daly of The Voice.

The mission of the Cancer Support Community Redondo Beach is to help as many cancer patients as possible recover from the physical and emotional effects of cancer to the greatest extent possible. Our psychological support and educational programs are designed to address the loss of control, hopelessness and social isolation that cancer patients and their families often experience. Our goal is to ensure that no one faces a cancer journey alone. All 165 of our monthly programs are offered at no cost. We hope The Teen Writing Contest will capture teens’ imaginations and that the cash prizes will entice them to enter. We also want to open a dialogue about cancer and increase awareness of the Cancer Support Community Redondo Beach as a resource for anyone facing cancer regardless of age, gender, socioeconomic status and diagnosis or stage.

Please feel free to duplicate this and other enclosed documents to distribute to youth who are interested.  Electronic versions of these documents, entry forms and all contest details may be found at www.cancersupportredondobeach/essay. All essays and their accompanying entry forms must be submitted electronically. All entries are due no later than midnight Friday, October 28, 2016.

Thank you for helping us get the word out about this important teen program. Feel free to contact me with questions or for more information at 310-376-3550 or at [email protected] with “Teen Writing Contest” in the subject line.

Sincerely,
